Meditation is scary until you do it. And to do it, do nothing. For most people alive today this is nearly impossible to conceive. I want you to put yourself in the shoes of someone that lived around 800 years ago. Did they have all these distractions? Yes, they of course went out and worked, but other than that and the similar activities we still practice today - What did they do with their time? They focused on the things that mattered the most. Without all these outer distractions the people were much more capable of going within; They were able to achieve happiness by stepping into their purpose. This was intrinsic to them at the time, what else is there to do? Now we have distractions. We have social media, TV, AI, online banking, bills, subscriptions, notifications, emails, texts, etc. That is a lot of external forces pulling on our time, and attention. Our future is dependent on our attention, intention and time. If we give it away for free, that is not good. Due to many sources of online media being “free” humanity has been lured into a false security of feeling like they are getting a good deal. Also, not the case. It may be free of currency to scroll Instagram for hours, but it costs your time, which will kill your progress towards your actual deepest goals and desires. Why would you willingly do that to yourself? It’s brainwashing to the highest degree. However, it is free so we lie to ourselves that it is good for us.
Meditation is the art of clearing out all of the minutia of the day. All the listed above have no place in meditation, you can be aware of them, love them, and release them. The desire of a good meditative practice should be to rewire the brain for success through consciousness in the present moment and reflective inner thought. To explain I’ll give you an example of a heavy smoker. They go through the day as it usually is, smoking a full pack, and everything is just dandy. However, they fear that they will get cancer if they keep smoking. In this individual a meditation might be closing their eyes, put on some very relaxing sounds, and tune out everything. I guarantee there are going to be some negative thoughts that boil to the surface in the first 15 minutes, and that’s GOOD. That is precisely what you want, that is the shadow. The thoughts that might boil up will irritate the man. Whether it be about Love, Money, Judgements, Nicotine, etc. That inner thought when you are meditating needs to be acknowledged and reaffirmed or transmuted. If the thought is a positive one, reaffirm it in your mind. If you see your wife and you having a lovely dinner and evening – don’t throw that out, say “I am a wonderful husband/wife” and other reaffirming positive I AM statements. Over time positive reinforcement not only reshapes your subconscious brain, but changes your external actions, thoughts, words, and beliefs. Now to help this man out, when that thought of wanting a cigarette arises, and it will. He has to throw it out, mentally toss the smoking of the cigarette out and clarify to himself “I AM meditating and not smoking” followed with “I am not a smoker, I am a healthy person.” I do understand that most of this probably sounds like wishful thinking, well it is. What in life of value has ever been birthed less the thought of higher thinking? In order to change to the new you, you must go within to become that new you. Only in the silence and solitude of your mind can you begin to grasp what makes you act as you do. If you put all your faith in a therapist, I feel bad. They get 1 hour of time to diagnosis and fix 24 hours of your reality. If you want to change your life, become your own therapist. Meditate, go within, throw out the bad, reaffirm the good, rewire through I AM statements and understand that You are a GOD. You have the power to achieve anything you can imagine; it is only the disbelief in such things that hold you back. In this life you will never be handed exactly what you desire; But if you are brave enough to ask and believe, you will receive.
Now A quick breakdown of how to actually do this.
· Sit upright or lay down. Doesn’t matter at all, just be comfortable and calm.
· Turn on either a subliminal beat or frequency on YouTube.
· Eyes closed, begin by focusing on your breath start using box breathing.
· 4 seconds in, 4 second hold, 4 second out, 4 second hold repeat.
· Focus on the breath and become incredibly conscious of your body.
· Remove outside thoughts and feelings by going into the body.
· As you continue to relax you may start to see images, people, thoughts, things pop up in your imagination.
· Understand everything or try your best to.
· Something incites anger, ask yourself why it makes you angry.
· Listen and understand the answer you get, now go deeper.
· The first answer is always a justification, dig down and get the truth if it’s a topic you don’t want in your life.
· Understand that you can unwire bad habits and rewire them via your thoughts and statements.
· Become conscious of the bad, dig into the why, understand and replace it with something good that fits who you are to become, repeat.
Do this long enough and that is when the magic happens. Your thoughts begin to flip entirely, your beliefs change, your internal reality when reaffirmed begins to glow. This translates to your external reality and the first time you experience this you will be hooked. The man above started mediation with the intention of quitting smoking. He stuck to it and ended up not only quitting smoking, but drinking, works out daily, and eats high quality foods. The meditation didn’t do it, he did. He went within and realized the true reason he smoked was due to anxiety and stress. Stress and anxiety that was linked to how scared he was about his health. This man was smoking to reduce his stress, despite the smoking being the #1 input to his stress. His thoughts of having a stroke, being overweight, out of breath, can’t workout etc. all came to the surface. Within he realized that he cares deeply about his health and started tossing out all the activities that don’t align. Ask yourself “what should I give up, that I don’t want to give up, that will make my life infinitely better?” For me personally it was drinking and nicotine. I am comparable to this man. I had to change my mind set to one of a Healthy and happy individual. In that vision there is no need for alcohol, drugs, or smoking. Those things are not needed for my happiness, as it come from within. And so, I gave them up just like the old man. The point I am trying to get across is that meditation is not exclusive to any one thought, action, intention. It will boil everything up that needs to be dealt with internally. It is a practice to get into in order to remove all the subconscious blockers you are facing to becoming the best version of yourself. Thank you for reading, Love you guys.
